Day one....UTAH

Okay, I know I've been REALLY negligent at keeping up with our personal blog...no need to tell me, I know and as bad as I feel, there's no going back to change that...so just be happy I'm posting now!

We are on a 12 day trip to Utah and today is the first day...we flew down to Salt Lake City and after some shopping to stock up on some food...we headed to Moab to start out journey. The drive was really nice, even though we had some rain, there were also many rainbows, lightning, great rock formations and a beautiful sunset. All making for a nice trip over...the only negative was when we arrived at our motel...just a warning...if you are ever in Moab, NEVER stay in the Days Inn...it's awful...and unfortunately, that is where we are staying and we've called many other places in town...and NO vacancies...so we are here for the next five nights...wish us luck! We figure that the sights during the day will make up for this...and in the whole scheme of things, it's really not that big of deal, it's just five days and it will definitely add to our stories of our time here! Tomorrow we will head out and explore and get our bearings and figure out our schedule.

For now, here are a few photos from our flight and the drive over (with our little point and shoot...not bad!)...enjoy!

Mt. St Helens, Adams and Hood...as seen from our plane this morning.

Simplicity!

Coming in to Salt Lake City...loved the view and happy it was partly clear!

The Great Salt Lake...beautiful!

Heading out of Salt Lake City...these turbines were RIGHT on the side of the road...and the colors...amazing...loving the fall colors since we don't have them at home yet...hoping to see LOTS more of it in the next days!!

That's it for now...time to head to bed and then get ready for our first day here...we'll see what Arches is all about and start our exploring (and photographing!!). HAPPY FALL, everyone!
