Happy March

Hello everyone! We are back at home and have been in the swing of everyday life for nearly two weeks now. It was sad to leave Maui...not only the weather, the beauty of the island, but also the relaxed and laid back lifestyle! Of course, coming home was tough when you board the plane and it's 85 degrees when you leave and about 40 when we arrived in Seattle...brrr!!!!

Life is routine again...Rick's busy with work these days and with a new software system in the design phase for the company, he'll be busy for the next several months with all of that, but loves the challenge of something new. Terri has been trying to get some of the "spring cleaning" started...although there is way more than just the usual spring things to do...we have several projects we want to get taken care of this year. So many closets, cupboards and even rooms that need a MAJOR overhaul!! :) And, we can't forget about the yard, which surprisingly enough is needing to be mowed right now! Unfortunately on the days that we can do it, the weather isn't cooperating when we have the time...so it continues to grow! Of course, there are plenty of weeds in the landscaping that need to be pulled, but it's either raining or a bit too cold to pull them. We're anxious to get it all into shape for the season, not to mention, just to spend some time outside, especially in the back yard during the summer!

We've enjoyed our time with Jayden since returning and were amazing at how much she had changed in just the 10 days we were gone. Her vocabulary grows and grows each day and we are continually trying to hide our "chuckling" when she says something cute or humorous! She's a pure delight and we enjoy her each time she visits! The new and exciting part of her life these days is that she's in the "potty training" stage and becoming a "big girl" (as she says!). So far, she's doing really good and is quite proud of all her stickers she's earned while here when she uses the potty! The day after we got home from Maui, we had her for the day and while driving to the store with her, we were talking about the fact that we actually needed our sunglasses and it wasn't even Hawaii! Jayden asked "what you and papa talking about meme??" When I told her we forgot her sunglasses, she said "oh, I need some too!" Yes, we are very biased, but she is a very smart little girl and is extremely observant!

Rain...that's what is happening outside right now and it's not nearly as nice as the sunshine and warm breezes of Maui...guess we just need to look at our photos to remind us of how wonderful it was! Of course, with the rain, we have lots of GREEN and the cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom and the daffodils and crocus are blooming as well, so that is a sure sign that spring is nearly here! The colors of spring around the Puget Sound are incredible and on the days when it's not raining, it's just about perfect here. We really are fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the country!

It's hard to believe that Easter is so early this year and it's just a little over a week away. We wonder what the weather will bring us being so early! It's been 12 1/2 years since we've lived here and there have been a few years that the weather was nice and the kids were outside on Easter morning. And, other years, it's been cold, wet, frosty and far from spring-like...so we're crossing our fingers it'll be more "spring-like" this year! We are going to an Easter egg hunt with our neighbors (Greg, Leah & Luke - 16 months) and Miranda and Jayden will be coming along, so that should be fun...if the weather cooperates! Naturally, there will be a few photos from that morning, so stay tuned for those!

We wish you all a wonderful March and hope that you have an Easter filled with joy and happiness...and hopefully some beautiful spring weather! Until later....Rick & Terri
